Why We Love Frontier Community Services: Voices from Our Team!

Cecil

I started working for Frontier on May 19, 1991. At first, I wasn’t sure that this job was for me because of all the responsibilities. After a while, I felt guilty for taking pay for it because I loved it so much. When I first started, we worked on goals together, and it was very rewarding to see everyone accomplish them. The people I worked with became my extended family. I worked in direct care for close to 10 years, and then I moved full-time into the maintenance department. I still miss direct care—I miss taking people out into the community and giving them new experiences. Some of the best times of my life have been with the people we serve and my co-workers. My favorite part of working here is coming to work because I actually enjoy what I do. Even when I am on vacation, I still swing by and check on things. When I first started, there were only a few people working in our company, and our offices were in the basement—what is now our Learning Center. It has been rewarding to watch our company grow and help more people in the community.

Cindy

I started full time in March of 1994 after being in a part-time position. We had a nephew we took care of with developmental disabilities, and we met the Frontier team at one of the classes we

were supposed to take. I love working with the people we serve, and I can’t believe I get paid to have fun!
